Why I’m Running

Many of you in the New North End know me as a straight-talking, "what you see is what you get" neighbor. Growing up in a large family, attending BHS, and building a life here with my wife, Lisa, shaped my deep commitment to this city. When we lost our daughter, Katie, three years ago, this community wrapped its arms around us—and living in a way that makes her proud is why I serve. From establishing Pennies for Parks to serving three terms on the City Council and fighting to protect affordable housing at the North Avenue Co-Op, my focus has always been on practical, common-sense solutions for Burlington families—putting people over politics.

Now, as our community faces growing affordability challenges, I am ready to bring that experience to Montpelier. As an Independent, I have the freedom to work across the political aisle to secure smart school funding, protect local control, bring our new high school back home to North Avenue, and safeguard food security for our seniors and vulnerable neighbors. I encourage you to read my Priorities page to learn more about my platform—or call my cell directly at 802.233.0456 to chat about how we can build a better future for the New North End together.

For the next 2 months, I’ll be out knocking on doors, attending community events, and hopefully connecting with as many of you as possible. Please reach out and I look forward to any time we can share together.
